Well Mother Nature did her best to cancel our D Day Ceremony today at Veterans Memorial Park. With heavy rain and thunder a mere 30 minutes before the planned start time it did not look promising but we held on with hope and at 11:10 we started under beautiful sunshine. The crowd consisted of Legion members, a large group of students from Bridgewater Jr High School and the Military. Jeff Rhodenizer spoke of his experience last year touring the Juno Beach area with a group of educators and Mayor David Mitchell spoke about his experience only a few weeks ago attending the VE Day ceremony in France.
